FIGHTING AGAINST FINNING
Every year, over 100 million sharks are caught worldwide, mainly for their fins, with over 50% of those shark fins being traded through Hong Kong.
Which is why The Hong Kong Shark Foundation (HKSF) believes they can make a significant impact on a global scale through shark conservation education. They reached over 10,000 students last year through initiatives like their Shark Ambassador Education Program. They address the consumption of shark products locally and globally, encouraging businesses to become Shark-Free Companies and sport the shark-free logo. HKSF’s Shark-Free Wedding campaign encourages couples to celebrate sustainably by opting out of the traditional shark fin soup. Find out more about these programs on their website, Facebook, Instagram, Weibo and Linkedin.
