Malcolm Wood
Soaring Sustainably
Most people would be content to mount a camera on a drone to get an aerial shot. Not Malcolm Wood. This para-alpinist would rather ski off a mountain edge and paraglide down while documenting the effects of climate change on glaciers.
When he’s not gliding over mountains, Malcolm imagines new style and flavour combinations for Maximal Concepts, the global hospitality brand business he co-founded. But this is luxury with a conscience; everything Malcolm comes to as a restauranteur, entrepreneur, film producer, environmentalist and adventurer is rooted in sustainability.
Malcolm has been involved in multiple international productions including, A Plastic Ocean, which was described by Sir David Attenborough as ‘the most important film of our time’, and most recently, IMAX Presents: The Last Glaciers, lauded as the most comprehensive film ever produced about the relationships between climate change and glaciers.
Malcolm has been active in various foundations, including the Plastic Oceans Foundation, and Hong Kong Shark Foundation. He founded Meru Projects, a foundation and green fund to support technologies to create a better and greener environment, with a focus on environmental education.
