To create great art, you need to immerse yourself in your subject. As an ocean artist, marine biologist, scuba and wildlife guide, Rachel Brooks has gone to underwater extremes – from the Great Barrier Reef to the Coral Triangle and beyond – to render ocean creatures in exquisite ink and watercolour.
The artworks on her website invite you to connect with the underwater world she loves – you can even dive in yourself wearing her sustainable apparel! Rachel spent three years working with basking sharks in the Sea of the Hebrides Marine Protected Area, and is currently working on a comprehensive guide to Scottish sharks, rays and skates for a citizen science reporting tool.
