Shalise is an 18-year-old marine conservationist and scuba diver from NSW, Australia. She was just 11 when she founded Shalise’s Ocean Support, to help restore and protect the oceans she loved.
What started with bins for discarded fishing lines led to a campaign, alongside the legendary Sylvia Earle, for a Hope Spot at Fish Rock. Besides being home to the critically endangered East Coast Grey Nurse Shark, this biodiverse reef is also Shalise’s favorite scuba diving spot. In 2022 Shalise was awarded the Sea Hero of the Year with Seiko, PADI and Scuba Diving Magazine USA. She used the award money to install Living Seawall tiles on her local marina to help improve its biodiversity. Find out what she’ll do next on Instagram.
